Post #3: My dream Job

Actually, If I could choose a job and If it won't depends of anymore that my wishes, I wanna be choreographer and dance producer. 

Like a choreographer, I could research and create dance works based on my own reflections, I could invent "new" worlds in "the stage", analyze in more detail the choreo-graphy and, who knows, maybe I could find a best way to write dance, best than there are in the present. I feel constantly the necessity of dance and create, so this is definitely my dream job. But, for down to earth things, I have thought to be a producer too. I know anyone can have two or even more roles in an art production, although it can be so hard. Like a producer, I'll have to find financing for the dance plays that I, or other artist(s), will make. In that job I'll have to put realistic limits to the ideas of the director or choreographer also, I'll have to talk with many type of people for get the things that need the production, and/or is posible that I'll have to looking for some places where sell the play and exhibit it.

The skills that I need for be a choreographer are the same that I'm studying in the university, I need to know about dance techniques, somatic practices, ways to write dance, creation methodologies, studies about the space, energy, time and other elements that are present on the stage. I need human tools too, like to job in teamwork, and constantly reach an agreement with they; or like work with artist or professionals from others areas. By another way, the skills that I need for be a producer are more related with computer tools, some basic economic and laws knowledges, and negotiations. 

Now, about the salary, I think that like a choreographer is difficult get a regular work in anyplace of the world, there are full of people who want dance and create things, there are a lot of competition. But in countries like Chile is more tough, because there aren't an industry of dance and there aren't big and regulars financing for stage arts, in fact there are only two big companies of dance in Chile with that type of financing: BANCH and Ballet de Santiago. So, be a producer can increase the possibilities to get best salaries and change the reality of the professional field in our country.
